"Reactivity vs. Mindful Response... People are so ingrained to do, do, do, and go, go, go, but it's when we take a step back through that lens of intention that's when it becomes a more mindful response, as opposed to reaction... If you take one thing away from what a Yoga practice can bring to you, it's that flipping of the script. It's all mindset."
In this episode, I sit down with Ashton August (@IAmAshtonAugust) to discuss creating one of the top yoga blogs and online yoga/fitness platforms, high performing habits, living with intention, the difference between responding and reacting, and so much more!
Ashton August is the founder of the leading yoga and wellness website YogiApproved.com as well as YA Classes, an online yoga and fitness platform that plants a food-producing tree in West Africa for every class a member completes.
After receiving her Masters in Creative NonFiction Writing from ASU in 2012, she dove headfirst into yoga teacher training and emerged with a vision of how to bridge her love of writing with her passion for yoga. With this vision in mind, she and her then-boyfriend (now husband) created YogiApproved in 2015.
A few years later, YA Classes was born. Hundreds of classes later, it is now one of the top-rated yoga apps in the marketplace!
Ashton is the author of the popular personal development workbook, Learn Grow Shift: 30 Days of Personal Growth and she is currently working on her second book concept.
A Colorado native, Ashton recently moved from Denver to Tucson, Arizona, where she enjoys her time writing, being in nature, and exploring the country in her Sprinter van with her husband and their dog Mukha.
Ashton is on a mission to inspire, empower, educate, and cultivate community both locally and globally through her work as an author, yoga teacher, and female entrepreneur.
In this episode with Ashton August, we cover everything from living with intention to high performing habits, and so much more!
