Increase Your Confidence In Business

"A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval."

Mark Twain

When you are a business owner you have to be your own cheerleader. There are several qualities that entrepreneurs share and one of the main ones is CONFIDENCE. Having confidence means knowing your worth and knowing that other will see the value through your service. If you lack confidence in your business, how are you going to be confident when sharing it with others?

In this article, I will be sharing some tips on how to increase your confidence in business.

1. Posture

Fixing your posture is the easiest way to increase your confidence. Slouching can make you appear and feel insecure, lazy, and tired. Try to make an effort at becoming aware of your posture throughout the day. Watch how improving your posture improves your conversations and the energy in the work space. Stand up straight, roll your shoulders back, elongate your spine, and allow your upper body muscles to relax so you don’t feel tense.

2. Let small mistakes go

Instead of dwelling on small errors throughout the day, let them go. Practice moving on, learning from the mistake, and returning better than before. Dwelling on a mistake all day can lower one’s confidence in the business and bring down the energy of the team.

3. Dress well

If you work from home it can be tempting to wear sweats all day. However, if you try dressing nice for the day you will notice your confidence in your business go up. Not only does dressing well communicate to others that you are professional and taking them seriously, but it also helps you and sends your brain messages that you are powerful, put together, and competent. Try making more of an effort for one week and see how you feel. Fake it until you make it.

4. Separate yourself from your business

When you learn to separate yourself from your business you won’t take things so personally. If you don’t do this then every attack towards your business will feel like a personal attack on you. Detach your self image from the work that you do.

5. Practice confidence

Practice your confidence throughout the day. The more you practice being in uncomfortable situations, the better you will get at handling them. Step out of your comfort zone. Accept invitations to networking events, try a new hobby, practice your public speaking, etc. Practicing your confidence will increase your confidence- it is just like a muscle. Practice being the most confident version of yourself throughout the day and you will notice that it becomes easier.

6. Celebrate small wins

Why wait for the perfectionism that is unachievable? Practice celebrating all the small wins. This will help increase your confidence in what you are doing on a daily basis.
